In October 1997, Donald “Don” Bohana took a polygraph about the August 1994 drowning of Dolores “Dee Dee” Jackson—ex-wife of Tito Jackson and Michael Jackson’s sister-in-law. He maintained it was an accidental drowning. The test returned a rare 99.99 NDI (No Deception Indicated) score, strongly indicating he was telling the truth. Despite this, Bohana was convicted of second-degree murder, sentenced to 15 years to life, and served about 25 years before parole. The death was originally ruled accidental (both were intoxicated; her blood-alcohol level was .23). The manner was later changed and charges filed years afterward. Forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden described it as consistent with accidental drowning. Bohana has always maintained his innocence.
